At the core of the DS2 is a fully balanced dual-mono circuit topology carefully engineered to preserve channel separation and minimize unwanted noise and distortion. The Phono Box DS2 supports both MM and MC cartridges with extensive loading and gain adjustment options accessible directly from the front panel. This flexibility allows users to optimize cartridge matching for a wide variety of turntables and cartridge designs without complicated internal modifications.

For moving coil cartridges, impedance loading can be adjusted continuously from 10 ohms to 1 kOhm, while capacitance settings are available for MM cartridges. Gain adjustment options ensure excellent compatibility with low-output MC designs as well as standard MM cartridges.

The DS2 also includes selectable subsonic filtering to reduce unwanted ultra-low-frequency resonance caused by warped records or tonearm vibrations. This improves woofer control and overall playback stability without negatively affecting musical performance.
