As Aune’s latest fully discrete Class-A headphone amplifier, the S17 Pro is engineered for high performance and rich, musical sound. It features a twin-JFET input stage, precision R2R volume control, and selectable Class-A bias with two current modes (50 mA / 100 mA per transistor). With up to 7.5 W of output power, three headphone outputs and two preamp outputs, it effortlessly drives everything from sensitive IEMs to demanding full-size headphones.

The twin-JFET design ensures matched thermal behavior, stable midpoint voltage, and consistent performance, delivering a smooth, tube-like tonal character with high input impedance—ideal for a reference headphone amplifier. The output stage employs 16 parallel output transistors, enabling massive current delivery and control. Each channel supports parallel transistor pairs, raising quiescent current to 100 mA / 200 mA, resulting in the hallmark warm, fluid, and natural Class-A sound.

For precise level control, the S17 Pro uses a JRC R2R electronic volume chip with dedicated op-amps in a fully balanced, four-way R2R architecture, providing excellent channel matching, wide soundstage, and pinpoint imaging. Dual gain settings optimize performance across use cases: low gain maintains linear Class-A operation for IEMs, while high gain unleashes the full 7.5 W output to power demanding headphones with ease.
