The Audio-Technica AT-LP5X is designed for vinyl listeners who want the stability of direct drive, the control of fully manual operation, and the flexibility of both analog and digital output. Its direct-drive DC motor provides steady rotation for 33-1/3, 45, and 78 RPM records, making it suitable for a wide range of vinyl collections.
The built-in switchable phono/line preamplifier supports both moving magnet and moving coil cartridge settings, allowing the turntable to connect easily to amplifiers, receivers, powered speakers, and systems with or without a dedicated phono input. The USB output also allows users to convert records into digital audio files using compatible recording software on Mac or PC.
The AT-LP5X features Audio-Technica’s J-shaped tonearm design, inspired by classic Audio-Technica models from the 1960s and 1970s. The tonearm includes adjustable tracking force, adjustable anti-skate, hydraulically damped lift control, and a lockable rest for precise manual playback.
It comes fitted with an AT-HS6 headshell and AT-VM95E dual moving magnet cartridge with a 0.3 x 0.7 mil bonded elliptical stylus. The cartridge body is compatible with the full VM95 Series stylus range, giving users a simple upgrade path for different listening preferences, including 78 RPM stylus options.
