Available from Layton Audio, the Sonos Beam Ultra brings a major acoustic upgrade to Sonos’ compact soundbar format. Its nine Class-D digital amplifiers drive a carefully arranged array of tweeters and low-profile woofers, creating a wide and spacious presentation without requiring a large cabinet.
The Beam Ultra is designed to reproduce true 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos sound. Two upward-firing tweeters help create overhead effects, while side-firing horn-loaded drivers expand the soundstage across the room. A dedicated center tweeter focuses on dialogue and front-channel detail, while four low-profile woofers add weight and impact to music, movies and television.
AI Speech Enhancement uses voice detection to improve the intelligibility of dialogue when soundtracks become busy or the room is noisy. Four selectable levels can be adjusted in the Sonos app, allowing the presentation to be tailored to the content and listening environment.
Night Sound reduces the impact of sudden loud effects while bringing quieter details forward, making late-night viewing more comfortable without constantly adjusting the volume.
Trueplay room tuning measures the acoustics of the listening space and adjusts the soundbar’s equalization to suit the room. The system is compatible with both iOS and Android devices, making setup more accessible across different mobile platforms.
Connectivity includes HDMI eARC/ARC for television audio, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 and Apple AirPlay 2. USB-C can also be used with optional Sonos adapters for analog line-in or wired Ethernet connectivity.
The Beam Ultra works as both a standalone soundbar and the starting point for a larger Sonos home theatre system. A compatible Sonos subwoofer can be added for deeper bass, while supported Sonos speakers can be used as rear surrounds for a more enveloping experience.
Its compact 750 mm width and low-profile 65 mm height allow it to sit discreetly beneath a television. It can also be wall mounted using the optional Beam Ultra Wall Mount.
